I really like your suggestion to ask the store associate what accessories come with the gun. I think that I could also ask about gun accessories for women, and see if there is anything my wife would want! Thanks for your suggestions! http://lockandloadboutique.com/t/pistol–rifle-cases

Actually last night I just found your blog and read it carefully. It can be ideal way to learn how to handle a shotgun. Most of the people are probably familiar with the term “skeet” than “trap. Thanks for sharing.

Comment on How to Choose a Handgun by Thinking about buying a gun as a gift? | Women and Guns https://womenandguns.org/new-gun-purchase/how-to-choose-a-handgun/#comment-6578 Mon, 05 Dec 2016 19:51:40 +0000 http://blackdiamondshooters.com/?page_id=78#comment-6578 […] Purchase a training class from a reputable instructor, or consider a gift certificate and let her pick out an instructor or class that meets her needs.  A good class will not only teach her gun safety and operation, it will go a long way towards helping her to understand HOW TO CHOOSE A HANDGUN. Comment on Articles written by other authors… by Janice https://womenandguns.org/2016/12/01/articles-written-by-other-authors/#comment-6577 Mon, 05 Dec 2016 18:42:19 +0000 http://womenandguns.org/?p=4776#comment-6577 Thank you for taking time to comment on this post.
In the past, I too have re-blogged articles by other authors. This post was as a result of an email that was sent to me because I was on his distribution list, and full credit was given to both author and site.
He accused me of “stealing” his intellectual content” with the intent of directing people to my site rather than his own. He never mentioned asking for permission first.
I immediately responded, apologized and deleted the post, however, no amount of apologies or explanations seemed adequate.
I think he resented being connected to my site, as he made a reference to the KKK.
So, I simply decided to stop following or sharing his work, including on my social media sites. It is unfortunate as I enjoyed and respected his ideas and writing up to this point.
My only agenda is to help other’s to become better educated and stay safe by sharing information and writing my own articles.

At least once I have done this and the author was happy to have his ideas re-posted.

You can also write a brief summary of the post and the post a link to the original post. I also use the “re-blog” function on WordPress. This is similar to “sharing” a post on Facebook.

Comment on Concealed Carry: 3 Things Women Can Teach Men by disturbeddeputy https://womenandguns.org/2016/10/13/concealed-carry-3-things-women-can-teach-men/#comment-6571 Mon, 31 Oct 2016 02:29:31 +0000 http://womenandguns.org/?p=4650#comment-6571 I appreciate your statement indicating that men CAN learn. As a firearms instructor I have found that it is a lot easier to teach women, because they are eager to learn, whereas men think they know it all. If I have to throw someone off the range or out of the classroom, it will inevitably be a man.

If one is not constantly seeking more knowledge, one is becoming stagnant, and will soon rot. Thanks for putting out a great blog. I’m glad I found it.

But I just wanted to let you know that we are going to be donating training to these women and kids as well as the staff. We are very excited to get more involved.

Comment on Three Things You aren’t Taught In Your Concealed Carry Course by Janice https://womenandguns.org/2016/09/13/three-things-you-arent-taught-in-your-concealed-carry-course/#comment-6568 Wed, 05 Oct 2016 16:33:20 +0000 http://womenandguns.org/?p=4644#comment-6568 It is probably quite common that discussions about “feelings surrounding concealed carry” are avoided. I am curious if you had a male or female instructor for your course? Often times, the guys are less likely to talk about things relating to feelings. They are more about the equipment. This is unfortunate as how we feel affects our ability to act. And under stress, we need to be able to make sound decisions and take appropriate actions. There is so much more to self defense than just obtaining a permit. Get more training. And then get some more training. You are really never done.
